Blue Wave 13U opened up the new baseball year by winning the Xtreme Diamond Sports Gold Glove tournament championship over the weekend (SEPT 15-16).
Though the team last played at the end of July as a 12U team in taking the Cooperstown Week 9 championship, they did not miss a beat in moving up to the 13U age group with the start of the new baseball year (2018-19).
Coach Aron Garcia’s team opened the tournament Saturday (SEPT 15) with a opened a 10-0 win over the Long Beach Quakes, then defeated the HB Stingrays 13-0 to earn the No 1 seeding for Sunday’s playoffs, where they defeated the Outlaws 365 4-1 in the semi-final before downing the Shockwave 8-2 in the championship.
Members of the team include Rylan Littlejohn, Derek Higareda, Andres Vaca, Wyland Okamoto, Austen Barnett, Ben Reiland, Treson Arita, Nolan Tillitt, Jeremiah Robles, Gio Sambito, Luke Wilson, Nicholas Keith, Kai Mo, and Brady Lemnitzer.
