Blue Wave is conducting tryouts for our 2024-2025 teams starting this Fall for 13U, 14U, 15U, 16U, and 17U/18U.
STARTING NEW 13U & 14U TEAMS
Blue Wave is based in Irvine, CA and delivers a complete high school development program for 7th and 8th graders that want to take their game to the next level with the goal of making your high school team and excelling when you get there.
Our 13U & 14U teams practice on 60×90 fields exclusively with high school coaches twice weekly and play two tournaments each month, including two top showcase events that include the Perfect Game Thanksgiving Invitational and Prospect Wire Christmas Classic.
The team will also play scrimmage games along the way to make sure players get game reps on a regular basis.
Tryouts for 13U & 14U players will be held in August:
- MON AUG 5 @ Northwood High School varsity field 5-7 PM
- MON AUG 12 @ Northwood High School varsity field 5-7 PM
- MON AUG 19 @ Northwood High School varsity field 5-7 PM
BLUE WAVE 2028 FOR FRESHMEN
This team is coached by Aron Garcia and will play local tournaments and showcases from September through December and start of CIF Spring season.
We are looking to build a solid group of incoming freshmen that can be showcased this year and next as they enter their collegiate recruiting years.
As Blue Wave 2028, our freshmen will play:
- SEPT 7-8 FIVE TOOL SOCAL FALL KICKOFF
- OCT 5-6 CCYB-ADIDAS FALL UNDERCLASS SHOWCASE
- OCT 19-20 PERFECT GAME SOCAL FALL CLASSIC
- DEC 6-8 CCYB GREAT PARK WINTER CLASSIC
Besides the events above, Blue Wave 2028 will play additional local tournaments and scrimmage games throughout the season.
Though not required, Blue Wave does offer optional fielding and hitting practice sessions with Coach Garcia each week. Optional practice sessions are not required to play on the team.
Cost for all practice sessions, games, tournaments and showcase events are priced separately and paid when you play. There are no dues for 15U, 16U and 18U high school level teams. You only pay when you play or participate.
Tryouts for Blue Wave 2028 with Coach Aron Garcia will be held:
- MON AUG 12 @ Northwood High School varsity field 5-7 PM
- MON AUG 19 @ Northwood High School varsity field 5-7 PM
- MON AUG 26 @ Northwood High School varsity field 5-7 PM
BLUE WAVE 16U UNDERCLASS
Coach Russ Martinez will skipper the Blue Wave Underclass team that will play in the 16U or high JV division in local tournaments and selected showcase events that include:
- SEPT 14-15 FIVE TOOL SOCAL FALL CLASSIC
- OCT 5-6 CCYB-ADIDAS FALL UNDERCLASS SHOWCASE
- OCT 18-20 PROSPECT WIRE FALL SHOWCASE
- DEC 6-8 CCYB GREAT PARK WINTER CLASSIC
- Besides the events above, Blue Wave 16U Underclass will play additional local tournaments and scrimmage games throughout the season.

BLUE WAVE VARSITY-GARCIA
Blue Wave Varsity-Garcia plays in 17U & 18U divisions in local major tournaments and events and is for all players that are currently playing or starting for high school varsity teams.
This is a highly competitive team and looking for highly competitive and committed players as we won the 18U Prospect Wire Firecracker Classic this summer and posted a 3-1 record in the Baseball Factory SW Championships.
Events scheduled for the Fall-Winter season for Blue Wave Varsity include:

- SEPT 27-29 PROSPECT WIRE SOCAL FALL CLASSIC
- OCT 11-13 CCYB-ADIDAS COLLEGIATE SHOWCASE

TRYOUT PROCESS
All new players are required to register at www.bluewaveathletics.com/registration to tryout, practice, or play with Blue Wave. There is no cost to register.
