Austen Barnett hurled a perfect game on Thursday to lead Blue Wave Varsity past Northern New Mexico Outlaws 11-0 in the Five Tool West World Series AUG 3-6 in Orange County, CA.
Barnett induced a fly-out from Damian Quezada to end the game.
In the first inning, Blue Wave Varsity got their offense started. Blue Wave Varsity scored one run when Harrison Burdge singled.
Barnett led things off on the hill for Blue Wave Varsity. Barnett surrendered zero runs on zero hits over five innings, striking out ten and walking zero.
Tyller Lomayma was on the pitcher’s mound for Northern New Mexico Outlaws. The pitcher surrendered eight runs on six hits over one inning, striking out two. Jayden and Dale Toya entered the game as relief, throwing two innings and one inning respectively.
Blue Wave Varsity totaled ten hits in the game. Barnett and Jake Garcia all collected multiple hits for Blue Wave Varsity. Garcia and Barnett each collected two hits to lead Blue Wave Varsity. Blue Wave Varsity was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Luke Martinez had the most chances in the field with 15.
Northern New Mexico Outlaws didn’t commit a single error in the field. Jaymison Leno had 12 chances in the field, the most on the team.
