BLUE WAVE 14U- GARCIA
Blue Wave 14U is coached by Northwood High School assistant baseball Coach Aron Garcia and is focused on preparing 8th graders for high school baseball and beyond.
Garcia is one of the top youth team coaches in the Western region and excels at preparing players for their freshman year of high school and beyond.
Garcia’s teams are consistently competitive and highly ranked every year, he has more than 70 tournament and league titles to his credit, as well as 14U national championships in 2009 and 2010.
His 14U team was 67-14 in 2010, ranked 18th in the nation by Perfect Game national scouting service, and finished first or second in more than a dozen tournaments over a five-month span. His 11U team won 7 out of eight tournaments they entered in 2015 and were ranked No. 1 in Southern California and No. 10 nationally by USSSA.
Garcia’s 2018 Blue Wave 12U team won eight tournament titles in eight months, compiling a 53-8-2 record that was capped off with the Cooperstown All Star Village Week 9 Championship. Several of those players still anchor the current Blue Wave 14U team.
Garcia is also well experienced in playing in national tournaments; he was a member of the 1987 Northwood Little League team that played Taiwan in the Little League World Series.
He was featured in a feature article in the OC Register about his experience in the LLWS, as well as when he was featured in a June 27, 1988 Sports Illustrated as “The Comeback Kid.” And, in case you missed it, you can read the online version here HERE.
He was also a four-year varsity starter at Irvine High School, where he played short stop. After high school he attended Saddleback College, where he played baseball and football. He has coached baseball and football since 1996 at Irvine High School, Mater Dei and, currently, Northwood High School.
Blue Wave 14U practices twice weekly plays tournaments twice a month.
PROCESS & COMMITMENT
Blue Wave is a full-time “Club Team,” not a casual rec team. Our goal is to prepare our players and teams to play at the high school level and beyond.
Blue Wave wants players that are committed to “the process” by attending all practices and games if possible.
Blue Wave players also work on their fundamentals, conditioning and hitting in their spare time as much as possible when not practicing with us. We expect Blue Wave players should be able to catch a ball, throw the ball correctly, and hit the ball.
Blue Wave looks for “team players” and “baseball families” as well. We strive to make each player better from one season to the other and improve our “team game” from one season to the other as well.
With that in mind, players are expected to play the “entire season” if they accept a position on any Blue Wave team. And, a 30 days advance notice is required when a player leaves the team.
The Blue Wave “Spring Season” runs January through May (5 months), tryouts typically in December.
“Summer Season” is three months, June through August, with players moving up in age division for the “Fall Season” that runs from September through December (4 months).
Cost is $225 per month training fee for practice sessions.
New players pay a one-time “New Player Registration” of $249 that includes player Game Jersey, Game Cap, Practice Shirt, and administrative set up.
Players pay Tournament Fees or Game Fees as posted on the team page. The cost of the Tournament or Game costs and payment deadlines are also posted on the team page.
This team is full a present, but conducts :Open Tryouts: at the start of each season for Spring, Summer and Fall/Winter.
Individual tryouts can be arranged on occasion depending on the team needs at the time by contacting Steve Kruse @ (949) 202-7748 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
