Blue Wave returns to Vanguard University this summer with weekly practice sessions for its high school-level teams (15U through 18U).
Costa Mesa-based Vanguard completed a $1.2-million renovation of their baseball field last year, including a pro-style infield and outfield, new dugouts, and score board.
“We are elated to be back at Vanguard as the field was down all last summer due to the renovation,” Blue Wave General Manager explained. “Vanguard has always been a great location for our players.”
Vanguard’s Dean Harvey Field is dedicated to Vanguard alum and Nike Executive, Dean Harvey, who led Vanguard Baseball to its first NAIA World Series in 1985. Harvey passed away in 2011 at age 42 due to a rare brain disease.
Blue Wave will conduct tryouts at Vanguard for its 14U, 15U, 16U, and 17U summer teams from 5:30 to 7:30 PM on Wednesday May 23 and Wednesday May 30, 2018.
